1. Advantages of MICE Packages
Of course, you can always put together your individual services, such as the conference room, conference technology, coffee breaks, and lunch, yourself. This can be a bit time-consuming, and to ensure you don't forget anything and to make things easier for you, you will find pre-defined MICE Packages in the MICE Portal. These packages include all the individual services you need for a conference in one package. The provider will then create an offer for the service package you have defined, allowing you to compare prices in the offer comparison, as you have requested the same service packages from each provider.
Note: As an event planner, you sometimes face the challenge of booking additional services to the fixed MICE Packages for flexible formats and according to the needs of your participants. Simply add the missing individual services using the modular system and thereby modify the MICE Packages to create your own MICE Packages.
2. Difference between MICE Packages and negotiated flat rates
MICE packages offer you more flexibility in adapting your services to the number of participants and your specific needs for your conference.
Conference packages include predefined services that form the total amount of your package.
3. Tax rates for individual services
In line with the reduction of VAT rates to 7% for accommodation and catering services, we have introduced the pricing of the individual costs of a MICE package.
Furthermore, two years ago, the taxation of room rental with the extended trade tax was enacted. Additionally, your finance department must also record the expenses for catering costs for internal and external participants for tax purposes. For this reason, individual services are listed separately when the offer is submitted, so that these services can be allocated to the respective tax category during invoicing.
Note: Please be aware that the quoted prices for individual services represent only calculated costs. These prices are only valid when purchasing the MICE package as a total price and cannot be booked separately!
Example: In the MICE package, a catering fee of €10 per person was quoted for participation in a lunch buffet. Outside of booking a MICE package, you cannot book participation in the lunch buffet separately for €10.
4.Pricing of MICE Package
The services are individually priced so that you can apply the tax-relevant VAT rate for each service.
Note: This makes it easier for the provider to issue the correct invoice and allows you to process the invoice quickly.
